Recommended Boat Trailer Winch for 9,000 lb Boat
Question:
I have a 8000+ lb boat dry weight probably around 9-10k loaded. i need to find a winch that will fit my boat. the trailer has bunks on it not rollers and the launches where i live are on the steeper side. I dont want to go with electrical i want it to be a manual crank. any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for all that information and while I can understand not wanting to go with an electric winch for a boat trailer, the issue is the weight of your boat as well as the fact you are using bunks and have a steep incline. Even if you had a very short winching distance without much incline and were using rollers, the hand winch that has the most capacity, the 3,700 lb Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch with Handbrake # F142430, would be pushing it because each layer of the winch reduces capacity.
With all of this in mind the only realistic option is going to be the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch - Marine - 9,000 lbs # DL25215 so long as your boat does not weigh over 9,000 lbs when loaded, and that rating also takes into account pulling the boat a max of 6 feet.
I have added a link to a video review of the Dutton-Lainson winch, as well as a link to a help article on hand winches I recommend checking out.
