Brake Controller Recommendation for Going from Air Brakes to Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
Question:
how to connect a trailer with hydraulic brakes to a truck with air brakes. I have truck Freighter Columbia 2004. I connected everything right and the brake pump works. There is a problem when I want to move for some reason, the brakes on the trailer to keep the trailer. Please tell me how to correctly connect.

For your truck with air brakes and your trailer with hydraulic brakes you'd want the Hayes Air Actuated Trailer Brake Controller # HA100400C which installs the exact same yet was designed to also be compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes. Not all brake controllers are compatible with the electric over hydraulic actuators, so that is likely the issue. You can test your wiring to make sure and the brake controller output wire is normally blue and connects to the 5 o-clock pin on a traditional 7-way. I've attached an article to assist.
