Should Sealant be Used when Installing Solera Slide Topper

Is it necessary to use a sealant with the self tapping screws when installing the Solera slide out topper?

When installing the Solera 12' Slider (Slide-Topper) in Black # LCV000168328 you do need to use a silicone sealant such as the TremPro 644 Silicone Sealant # 0160297.
I have cut out part of the installation instructions which details that you need to use the sealant when installing this slide-topper. The sealant will work together with the screws to give your slide topper optimal support.
