Tire Chains for 285/45R22 Tires on a 2018 Cadillac Escalade

Question:

Hi - Im bringing a 2018 Cadillac Escalade ESV 4WD Premium Luxury w/ P285/45R22 all-season tires up to Lake Tahoe this weekend. The storm is going to be tough. What snow chain do you recommend for this car? I should buy 4, not 2 right? Im reading snow chains are better for cables in this weather? Thank you,

You always want to follow the instructions highlighted in the owner's manual when it comes to using tire chains. In regards to your 2018 Cadillac Escalade, I looked up the online owner's manual and it states not to use tires chains as there isn't enough clearance and they could cause damage to your vehicle.

It also stated that if you decide to use tire chains then only install them on the rear tires. Since this is the case the only option I recommend for your situation is the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2327 because they are Class S compatible (for small clearance situations). These use a square link in a diamond pattern for great traction and they come in a pair so you only need 1 set.

Please note that since there is a disclaimer in the owner's manual, if you decide to use chains and your Escalade were to get damaged as the result of the chains then it wouldn't be likely that the damage would be covered under warranty.
