Recommended Anti-Rattle Clamp for Towing with Extended Hidden Hitch Ball Mount
Question:
Which anti rattle clamp would you recommend to put on a 2 inch hitch that is pulling a camper trailer weighing 4500# It will be attached to your 15 3/4 inch receiver with a 1 inch rise. The 15 3/4 inch receiver creates quite a bit of movement due to its length. The tongue weight is about 400#. The ball mount is the Hidden Hitch #80232

If the trailer hitch receiver on your tow vehicle has a collar around it then the best option out there is the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061. This clamps down behind the collar and then presses the shank of the Brophy Ball Mount # BM20 against the inside of the hitch receiver to take the movement out.
Sometimes hitch receivers don't have a collar. If this is the case for your setup then I recommend going with the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232 instead which not only provides you with a great anti-rattle product but also a lock to discourage theft of your ball mount.
