Recommended Yakima Rooftop Cargo Box Compatible With Thule Roof Rack on 2011 Ford Transit Connect

Question:

2011 Ford Transit Connect, Thule Aeroblade mounted. What cargo box? I have a 2011 ford transit connect with Thule aerobldes attached, to my surprise the Thule force alpine box I own does not support a crossbar spread this far 44” from the front of cross bar to the back of other bar is there a box that will fit, preferably from Thule or Yakima?

The Yakima SkyBox 21 Rooftop Cargo Box - 21 cu ft - Black Carbonite # Y07337 will fit crossbar spreads up to 42 inches and is the maximum distance on center. Your current Thule AeroBlade roof rack system has a crossbar spacing of 39 inches according to Thule with a capacity of 165 lbs max. Because it uses the factory mounting locations, this box will fit and is my recommendation for your roof.

Thule roof boxes max out at 36-7/8 inches crossbar spread with the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box - 22 cu ft - Black Glossy # TH629906, so there is not a Thule option that will work for your 2011 Ford Transit Connect.
