Best Towing Hitch for 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel

We need a towing hitch for our 2019 GC diesel. Need all the other stuff too, hitch ball, ball mount. I see there are a lot of hitches so please recommend the best one for towing our camp trailer.

You're right that we do have quite a few hitches for your Grand Cherokee but since you have the diesel model and will be towing there is one best choice, the Draw-Tite Max Frame Class III model # 75713. This hitch has the highest available weight ratings and it also offers easy no-drill installation using the included hardware packet.

This hitch fits the GC diesel as long as your spare tire is no larger than 18-inches. An installation video is linked for you along with the written instructions. The included photo shows the nice appearance of this high-capacity hitch once installed.

For a 4-pole wiring harness to operate the trailer lights I suggest the Tekonsha kit # 118727 because we find their wiring products to be the most reliable. This kit is mostly a plug-in installation at the GC taillights and I linked a helpful article to assist you. I recommend using dielectric grease # 11755 on those connectors to prevent corrosion and to maintain good electrical contact.

You may also care to choose the handy etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 which includes multiple hitch balls and multiple ball mounts along with hitch pins. This is great way to have flexible towing capabilities. Towing mirrors are also a good idea and I recommend K-Source universal kit # KS3990.
