Troubleshooting Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Experiencing Retraction and Power Issues

Question:

Lippert Ground Control 3.0. 4 point. Electric In manual mode one of the buttons on the touch pad stuck, to stop the jack from extending I pushed several buttons but didnt stop until I hit the retract. After the unit shutdown the touch pad does not light up when the on button is touched. On the control unit it is getting good power through the main power wire 13v as well as the ground. I manually retracted the landing gear so I can travel to my next stop. I disconnected the touchpad and power to the control unit and let it sit overnight hoping things would reset. Still not working this morning. Dont know what to do when I get there? 2017 Grand Design Reflection 303

With your Lippert Ground Control 3.0 # LC358590, since you have power to the unit confirmed and have already disconnected the touch pad and controller letting them remain disconnected for more than 15 minutes for reset, you will most likely need to replace the control module. This is the brains of the system and since you can manually retract we don't know the fuses are good so you will want to check them individually on that control module. 9 out of 10 times, replacing the control module fixes the issues with the Ground Control systems.

The Replacement Control Module for Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric Leveling System # LC304136 will be a simple replacement by simply swapping the part. Make sure your connections are secure and there are not bent pins and you will be good to go. It sounds like the "stuck button" is not a touchscreen issue as much as a controller issue. If you are confident the button is actually sticking, then you will want to replace the touchscreen first which is # LC234802.

Most of the time the touchscreen isn't the issue and the control panel solves the problem. Because we know you have power and we know the motors on your jacks work, it will be one of these two parts as that is all that is left.

How do I fix the out of stroke error? Do I have to hook the rv back to my truck?

The "Out of Stroke" error just means that the jacks have been extended a bit further than they are designed to reach. The easiest way fix and reset the error is to simply hook back up to the truck and move over to a more level surface area and extend the jacks again. You can also use some leveling blocks like # UF48-979051 if it's something that comes up often so the jacks don't have to extend as far.
