Aftermarket Towing Mirrors for 2018 Ford F-150 with BLIS Alert System

Question:

My 2018 F150 blind spot sensors do not function when a trailer is connected to the truck. Will the #KS81850 fix the blind spot when another vehicle is passing me?

Ford's optional Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) uses a display built into the OEM mirrors and radar sensors built into the tail lights to alert you to the presence of another vehicle in your blind spot. This feature can be turned off for cases where a towed trailer is causing false alerts.

Snap-On aftermarket towing mirrors such as the K-Source # KS81850 will not affect operation of either the sensors or the display but they will give you an extended field of view behind you that will be unaffected by any electronic systems. If you ever need replacement glass for these we do offer those parts, # KS81852GLH and # KS81851GRH.

You can temporarily switch off the system by using the information display. See General Information in your owner's manual for details. When you switch off the Blind Spot Information System, you will not receive alerts and the information display will show a system off message. The Cross Traffic Alert system always switches on whenever the ignition is switched on. However, the Blind Spot Information System will remember the last selected on or off setting.

Neither system can be switched off when MyKey is used.

You can have one or both systems switched off permanently at an authorized dealer. Once switched off, the system can only be switched back on at an authorized dealer.
