We have everything you need to safely pull a trailer equipped with electric brakes with your new 2019 Chevy Express Van.

Let's start by adding a trailer hitch. For this I recommend the Curt Class V Receiver Hitch # C15320 because of its superior weight ratings (16,000 pound towing capacity and 2,400 tongue weight limit), simple installation without the need for any drilling, and the fact that it is made right here in the USA.

I have attached an installation video on the 2017 model Express Van that you can use for reference.

Now we can move onto trailer wiring. Since your Express Van does not have any current wiring you will need to start with a 4-Way connector, for which I recommend the Tekonsha T-One # 118392. This custom harness will install by simply plugging into factory ports behind the driver and passenger side interior trim panels in the rear cargo area.

You will then need to convert the 4-Way to a fully-functional 7-Way connector with the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This kit includes everything needed to do this along with the extra wiring and circuit breakers needed to install a trailer brake controller.

I have included the written installation instructions that you can take a look at.

With the hitch and wiring in place it's time to pick out a brake controller. I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 because it features the best display on the market for easy-to-read settings and diagnostic messages (see attached image). It has also gotten almost universal praise from our customers (4.9/5 stars out of over 3,000 reviews!).

I have attached a short video demonstration that you can also check out.
