Distance Saris SuperClamp EX 4025F Adds to Vehicle Folded Up and Down

Question:

On the Saris Superclamp EX 2 bike rack, what are the distances from the center of the hitch pin to the back of the rack when it is folded up against the car and when it is folded down for holding bikes? You have a great site with a lot of good info, but it would be great if you put those two measurements in the details for all of the fold up hitch racks to make researching racks easier. I need to find a rack that I can keep on my car and fit in my garage. Ive noticed that you have more measurement info for some racks than others. Thanks,

When the Saris Superclamp EX 2 # SA4025F is folded down it will measure 27 inches from the hitch pin hole to the furthest point out on the rack. When folded up the distance is then 18 inches. You'd need to measure out both those distances from your hitch pin hole out to know how much room you'd have for your garage clearance.

We try to add as much relevant info and dimensions as we can for bike racks and I agree this should be on all product pages! This measurement isn't asked for as much as other dimensions so sometimes it gets overlooked. Typically people ask more about dimensions to see if the rack would clear the bumper folded up or down.
