The catch to using accessories with round bars like the SeaSucker Monkey Bars # 298-SX6000B you referenced is that you need to have the unit the accessory is meant to hold installed so that they don't fall over.

What you are experiencing with the Thule SnowPack Ski and Snowboard Carrier # TH7326 is perfectly normal with round bars and shouldn't be an issue once you have the skis/snowboards in place.

Thank you for the picture! When I spoke with my contact at Thule they said that this combo should work just fine but I showed your picture to the guys out in our demo area (who do the review videos) and they had some different insight. Apparently the Monkey Bars don't have a coating on them like the Yakima round bars # Y00409 do. This makes it harder for the Thule SnowPack to grip the bars. They recommended to try putting some rubber on the bars to help the SnowPack get a better grip on the bars. If you check out the Yakima FreshTrack # Y03093 (which is comparable to the SnowPack) you can see that the mounting hardware has a rubber piece on the upper half of the hardware which helps it to grip the round bars much better (see attached picture).
