The brake controller I highly recommend for your 2018 Ford F-150 is the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 because it is the easiest brake controller to use with your truck.
The Curt Echo will simply plug into the 7-way on the back of your 2018 F-150, as you can see by the accompanying photo. There is no other wiring needed and the only other thing you would need in order to use it is a smartphone. Once you download the Echo's app you will use that to set up the brake controller and you'll be set!
This is a proportional brake controller which responds to the deceleration of your truck for smooth braking. It comes with a lifetime warranty and is made in the USA.
