Will Curt Echo Wireless C51180 Work on 2020 Ford Ranger With No Brake Output Wire On 7-way Connector
Question:
The brake wire in the 7-way connector on my 2020 Ranger is not hot. Ive heard that is common to Rangers. If the brake pin is not hot I assume there Curt Echo will not work. Is that correct or does the Echo get power some other way?

Expert Reply:
The Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 you were looking at does not get power from the brake output wire on your 2020 Ford Ranger, and instead gets power from the 12v power pin and gets the brake signal from the brake light wires so you will not have any issues.
I included a video of the # C51180 for you to take a look at.
