Trailer Wiring Connector for Triton 8x10 Aluminum Snowmobile Trailer
Question:
I need to replace the plug only on the wiring harness as it was ripped off that plugs into my truck from the trailer the wiring on the trailer is in great shape so all I need to do is replace the Plug, BUT the harness kit I purchased has the standard 1, White, 1, Yellow, 2 light Brown and 1 green but the trailer has many more and lots of other colors, 2 Whites, 2 dark browns, 1 green, 1 Yellow, 1, Red Any help you can provide to match these 2 up would be of great help Also for reference the trailer has 6 round orange running lights up the side and across the back, 5 round red lights across the back with 2 long oval red lights across the back and it also has a license plate light Thanks

For your wiring, you will need to test your wire functions to know which one connects where. I recommend using a 12v battery and simply connecting the negative terminal to the trailer frame and then connecting the power to each wire at the connector individually to determine function. It is not uncommon to have two wires running to one function location for each side of the trailer so there aren't any jumper wires across the frame needed from side to side.
I've attached an article and a couple photos to help with the connection locations for a 7-way and a 6-way. It sounds like you may have a 4-way flat wishbone harness like # A40W42B which will have two brown wires for running lights on each side or a 5-way wishbone like # A40W5B so I've also attached videos to assist.
The round orange lights on the side and back will be running/parking lights and the red across the back are most likely the same. The long oval lights will most likely be the tail lights with stop, turn, and tail light functions. The license plate light if not integrated into the tail light will also be on the running/parking light circuit.
