There is a rack system that will work on your 2005 Silverado 1500 with a topper but the MaxxTow MaxxHaul Over-The-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack MT70232 mounts on a truck's bed rails and a truck topper will not allow this type of install.
Instead, the ladder rack system I recommend for the camper shell on your 2005 Silverado is the Thule TracRac CapRac Ladder Rack for Camper Shell/Truck Cap # TH29200XT because it gives your Silverado a quiet, yet strong and durable rack on top of your truck's shell.
The Thule TracRac CapRac # TH29200XT, which will require drilling to install, has aerodynamic bars which is what is going to ensure the rack makes minimal noise.
