Separating Trailer Turn Signals and Brake Lights

Question:

Is there a converter available to connect to the existing factory fitted trailer lights plug to a standard trailer? My current issue is i do not get brake lights separate because with the current connection turn signals also include brake lights

If I understand you correct you have a trailer with separate turn signals and brake lights that aren't functioning properly because you 2013 Ford F-150's trailer wiring combines those signals on one circuit. If I'm wrong let me know.

If I'm right then you need a 2-to-3 wire converter like the Curt # C56196. You connect the combined turn/brake wires on the input side and then the output side has separate wires for each turn signal and a dedicated brake light wire.

The combined right turn/brake wire goes to the green wire on the input side and the left turn/brake goes to the yellow. The white wire oin the input side needs to be grounded to a clean bare metal location on the trailer's frame. Then on the output side green goes to our right turn, yellow to your left turn, and red to your brake lights.

I've linked the install details for you as well.
