Recommended Brake Controller and Parts Needed to Add 7-Way to 2000 Jeep Cherokee
Question:
Hi Kyle, Thanks for the reply. I don't have a need for a trailer brake controller at this time. Do you have a universal installation kit that includes everything except the brake controller parts?

You can install a 7-way in your 2000 Jeep Cherokee but there is no plug-in harness for this vehicle, you are going to need to add a number of parts.
First you need to add a 4-way, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118354 and I have linked a video so you can see how this installs on a '00 Jeep Cherokee.
From there you are going to need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7, which will give you a 7- and 4-way adapter (this is the 7-way), circuit breakers and the rest of the hardware needed to install a brake controller.
Since a 7-way indicates you are looking to add a brake controller I strongly recommend the Prodigy P3 # 90195; it is the most popular model we carry due to its effectiveness and ease of use. It will activate your trailer's brakes immediately in proportion to your Cherokee's brakes and offers three different boost levels so you can adjust your braking power.
The P3 levels automatically, has constant diagnostic checks, contains safeguards which defend your controller against shorts, and features an LCD display which is much easier to read than that of other controllers.
This controller has been met with nearly universal praise; it has been reviewed by our customers nearly 3,000 times and is averaging close to 5 out of 5 stars.
I've added a link to a video review of this controller as well as links to help articles on brake controllers and their installation for you to check out as well.
