Trailer Axles to Move a 5-Ton Shipping Container Converted to a Home

I am looking into moving a shipping container around a field ,not on the road .The container has been made into a home .can you tell me what size axles I would need for about 4 to 5 ton in total weight.

Expert Reply:
For 4 to 5 tons (up to 10,000 pounds) I recommend two 5,200 pound axles which would provide you with 10,400 pounds of gross capacity. We have numerous axles rated for 5,200 pounds which I have linked for you. If you went with an axle-less system such as 2 of # ASR5200S01 then the suspension is already built in.
If you want a little more capacity I recommend going with 6,000 pound axles which I have also linked for you. Once you have chosen the axles you can select the compatible hubs, wheels, and tires.
