We recommend having a minimum of 3" between the top of the tire and bottom of the fender in order to allow for proper suspension travel. However, based on the photo you sent I believe you need new leaf springs as the ones you have appear to be almost completely flat. This has then compromised your tire clearance. The flattened leaf springs could either be a result of overloading the trailer or just general wear.

In order to replace them you would need to know your axle capacity and the distance between your hangers and shackle straps while the equalizer is straight. If you don't know your axle capacity then you can look on the trailer tag or center of the axle. Once you obtain this info you can either let me know what it is so I can recommend the correct replacements or you can use it yourself to find them in the attached selection.

I also strongly urge you to check that you are under the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of your trailer as odds are if your leaf springs are that flat, the trailer is overloaded.

Thanks for the part number. We have exactly what you need to replace these. For this, I recommend the 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring part # SP-220275. This leaf spring is actually going to be rated a bit higher than what you have now which will most likely give you a bit more clearance and will be less likely to wear out as fast. Were you able to confirm tire size and axle capacity with what is on the trailer? If so then I think this will be just what you need.

What about the equalizers? EQ-356 is what is on my equalizer

In order to replace the equalizers on your trailer we have a few options for you but none of the ones we have that will fit are going to give you any added height. If you are looking to upgrade to a set of cushioned equalizers then I recommend the E-Z Flex Heavy Duty Rubber Suspension System part # K71-652-00 but if you just want a direct replacement then you can use the Curved Equalizer part # TREQ356.
