Recommendation and Procedure for Dolly Towing a 2013 Hyundai Elantra
Question:
Towing a 2013 Hyundia Elantra with a dolly. Do you have to do anything else other than just putting the car on the dolly?

Expert Reply:
When dolly towing your 2013 Hyundai Elantra, your owners manual states to set the ignition switch in the ACC posion, shift into Neutral, and make sure the parking brake is released. Failure to put the vehicle in neutral can cause transaxle damage.
For a tow dolly, I recommend the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes - 4,250 lbs # RM-2050-1. This dolly will allow you to simply drive onto the ramps, secure the tires in the included wheel nets, and go. You will need a trailer connector like # PK12706 for the trailer wiring if you have a 7-way connector on your towing vehicle.
I've attached an article to assist in choosing the correct ball mount for your dolly to tow level. You may choose to use an adjustable option like # C45900 with lock set # C23556 to make it easy.
