I took a look at the online version of your owner's manual and it does say that a 2007 Ford Edge can be flat towed. Even though this is what I found it is always best practice to check your owner's manual to confirm this and to see specific instructions regarding the flat towing process.
There are 6 essentials when it comes to flat towing any vehicle: a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter.
For a base plate kit I recommend the Roadmaster XL # 4408-1 which pairs nicely with the Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 and the Safety Cables # RM-643, both of which are rated for up to 6,000 lbs.
Then for wiring your best option is to use the Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 which allows you to install a Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 to keep your battery charged since your key will need to be left in the ACC position (from what I saw in the manual).
The 2 best options for a braking system are the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251 and the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. These both apply the brakes on your Ford Edge at the same time and with the same intensity as the brakes in your motorhome. The biggest difference is that the Stay-IN-Play DUO is a permanent install while the Patriot will need to be installed each time.
I recommend going with the Stay-IN-Play DUO if you plan on doing a lot of towing. If not then the Patriot is an excellent choice since the installation is not as intensive as the initial installation of the Stay-IN-Play DUO. If you do go with the permanent install then you also need the Relay Kit # RM-88400 to ensure that the lights on your Ford Edge are operating properly.
Finally, most flat towing setups require a high-low adapter for the tow bar to remain level while towing. I have linked our selection of adapters for you to check out as well as an article that will help you determine which is the best one for your application.
