How to Tow a Trailer with Bike Rack Attached to Tow Vehicle
Question:
I drive a 2006 Toyota Sequoia. I also have a 2008 Rockwood pop up camper. I bought the MT7066 double hitch from you guys a couple of weeks ago to pull the camper and for my four bike rack. Once the camper was hooked up, the bike racks tongue going into the 2 inch hitch was too long to clear the black turnstile that raises the camper. I need a lightweight 2 bike rack with 2 inch receiver with a short tongue that would allow 2 bikes to ride without banging into the propane tank which is at the front of the camper. Any advice?

Instead of using the MaxxTow Ball Mount part # MT70066, I recommend using the Swagman Traveler XCS part # S64664 which installs on a 2" square ball mount and will allow you to carry two bikes. This option will position the bike rack closer to the tow vehicle in comparison to the MaxxTow Ball Mount. It also won't reduce your tongue weight capacity by 50% like the ball mount adapter will.
I have attached a photo of this bike rack being used on an a-frame trailer with propane tanks so you can get a better idea if it will work for you. I have attached a review video of the bike rack in use for you as well.
