The best way to run the wires for a brake controller through the firewall on your 2016 Volvo V60 is to look for the large rubber grommet that feeds the wiring harness from the cab into the engine bay. This harness/grommet is usually located by the intermediate steering shaft but could be elsewhere. Basically, once you find the harness you will want to poke a hole in the rubber grommet and feed the wires through with some sort of leader. Unfortunately, we don't have a video of this as we have yet to install a brake controller on a 2016 Volvo V60. This will be the easiest way to run the wires and we have used it several times before. I really don't think you are going to find specific instructions for this online so if you are not comfortable with the installation process then you may want to take the vehicle to a professional.
In order to install a brake controller you are going to need a 4-way like the Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56287 and a 4 to 7-way adapter like the 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Adapter part # ETBC7. Then for a brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 which is our best seller. This will be everything you need.
The other option you have that will not require you to run any wires thought the firewall is the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 but you will still need to use the Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56287 and the 4 to 7-way adapter like the 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Adapter part # ETBC7L.
