Lionshead Castle Rock Tire Warranty

Question:

we just noticed that the spare tire on our 2017 5th wheel has a large gash across it. It looks like someone slashed it, maybe when taking wrapping off of it? Is there any warranty on these tires, its a castle rock ST

Tires like the Castle Rock ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 15" Silver Mod Wheel - 6 on 5-1/2 - LR D # LHACK124 come with a 5 year warranty on the tires along with 2 years of roadside assistance. Although the roadside assistance would be in effect, the warranty does not cover individuals slashing the tires. I recommend contacting your dealer if you believe this was done at their location to see if they will cover the replacement due to their negligence if it was indeed done even accidentally by their staff.

Even if the tire holds air, I do not recommend using it as a spare in its current state.

Hello. Do you know if there is an actual recall for these tires? ST225/75R15 We have had 2 blowouts in the last month with these tires on our 2019 RV! Completely dangerous tires for sure!

There aren't any recalls or known issues for the Castle Rock # LHACK124 at this time. Blowouts can be caused by a number of things but with trailer tires the most common culprits (other than simply running over an object) are the tires being under-inflated or over-loaded. If this is your specific tire, make sure it's ALWAYS inflated to its max 65 psi and its single tire load capacity of 2,540 pounds is sufficient for your trailer weight.

@ChrisR Hi Chris. Just wondering regarding your reply about tire pressure and load which makes sense, so would you say that is the major problems with the castle rock tires? Because in reading the forest river forum, there is a lot of issues with those tires. I am concerned about my CR tires on my 2019 mini lite that has about 1200 miles now and set to go on a major trip. Thank you

@LesB We have actually been receiving a number of comments about the Castle Rock tires too. I would definitely make sure you are following all of the rules that Chris mentioned and then if it makes you feel more comfortable you could swap out the tires as well. My favorite tires are the Goodyear Endurance if we have some in your size.
