Boat Trailer Tire Replacements for 6.5-13 Tires
Question:
What is the best replacement wheel/tire combo for a 6.5 13 mounted tire on a boat trailer from 1968. The weight of the boat is app 1500 lbs with the motor.

The closest match to your 6.5-13 tires is going to be a 175/80-13. This size has a section width of 7 inches and overall diameter of 24.1 inches. They will fit on 13 x 4-1/2 inch, 13 x 5 inch and 13 x 5-1/2 inch wheels. Wheel width is measured from bead seat to bead seat where the tire sits; not overall width. If this all matches what you have now (or is close) then you can go to a 175/80-13.
I have included a link to all of the tires and tire and wheel combos we have in this size. A load range B in this size will have a capacity of 1,100 pounds at 35 psi. Load range C is rated at 1,360 pounds at 50 psi. And a load range D is rated for 1,610 pounds at 65 psi. Capacity does not appear to be an issue in this size based on the estimated boat weight of 1,500 pounds.
