Replacement Hitch Bolt for Yakima BigHorn 4 With 2" Shank

Question:

Please help, I acquired a used Yakima bike rack. There is no identifiable information on the rack, but through photographic research Ive determined it must be a Bighorn 4 photo attached just in case you can confirm. It came with a 1.25inch hitch stem, but I am ordering the 2inch upgrade - part No. Y8880041. Ill need to buy it together with the connecting hardware a hitch bolt, but evidently, finding the correct bolt may depend on the year of manufacture, and obviously I dont have this information. The options seem to be Y8890200 or Y8780022 the latter seems to have additional parts which I dont understand the function of. One of them Y8780022 looks like the threaded portion would reach through the full width of the hitch which is about 2.5. But maybe the hitch stem is only threaded on one side, and the other side is smooth, in which case Y8890200 is correct. Can you tell me which part is the one I need?

Thanks for the photo and I did take a look at many of the discontinued 4-bike racks from Yakima and I agree that you seem to have a BigHorn 4.

Since you will be getting the 2" Replacement Shank for Yakima BigHorn 4 # Y8880041 what you need is the Replacement Hitch Bolt, Nut and Clip for Yakima Bike Racks # Y8780022. The part you said you don't understand function of is likely the anti-rattle insert. This will fit inside the replacement shank, allowing you to use the threaded bolt.
