Replacement Threaded Hitch Pin for Older Yakima BigHorn 4 without a Removable Threaded Insert

Question:

I need a replacement hitch pin for an older Yakima Big Horn 4 2inch receiver....I see the parts that include the insert but not sure how to remove the threaded insert that is already in there. I dont see any protruding tabs to remove the insert. Is there a threaded bolt that will fit the old threaded insert? It is larger than 5/8... Thanks!

It sounds like you have an older style BigHorn 4 bike rack that has a threaded insert that cannot be removed. If this is the case, you will want to use the Replacement Hitch Bolt and Clip # Y8890200. This threaded hitch pin installs the rack on the trailer hitch using a 15/16 inch socket.

Yakima has confirmed this hitch pin is the correct replacement for older BigHorn racks for 2 inch hitches that were made before 2004.

The Replacement Hitch Bolt, Nut, and Clip # Y8780022 that you referenced is designed to work on newer BigHorn racks with the removable insert, made after 2004.
