Can 1,000 lb Spring Bar Weight Distribution System be Upgraded to 1,200 lb

Question:

I have a wd from e trailer 2 years ago. Now I have a new truck and a new bigger trailer. The truck is a Ram 1500 2016. the front tire is 37 in but the rear is 39 in. in a lever ground, both. The trailer is a 1k tongue and is a coleman 244 BH 2016 25 foot. I set up the same way as before. now I only used 5 instead of 6 washer. with wd set up and attach to truck. all measure give me 37 in in all four tires. front and back. I am planing a very long trip. An follow instruction to the letter. Did I did it right?. Drove for 2 miles no difference. Your opinion do matter to me. The wd is a equilizer pro.

Since the fender to ground dimensions are all level at 37 inches for all four fenders it sounds like you set up everything correctly. Now I noticed you said "no difference" is that because you aren't seeing a difference in sway reduction? If so, you should note that WD systems aren't really designed to prevent persistent sway.

Is your loaded tongue weight 1,000 lbs or is it more than that? Is your system the part # EQ37100ET? If so this sytem is rated for up to 1,000 lb tongue weight max. If you are above that it won't be effective. You should also note that any cargo weight behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle needs to be considered as tongue weight too.

You can upgrade your system to 1,200 lb spring bars if needed too. Since the 1,200 Equal-i-Zer spring bars # EQ90-01-1299 are wider at 1-1/2 inches than the 1,000 lb bars which are 1-3/8 inch you'd have to swap heads too. So with that you'd need the part # EQ90-02-1200 too to be able to convert from 1,000 lb tongue weight to 1,200 lb.
