Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Rail Adapter Compatibility with Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch

Question:

Why does it say it can’t be used with the auto slider? I was planning on using this with the super glide 2900 hitch? They show it rated at 21k? How does a auto slider make any difference? Any turns where it slides are made at low speeds? Husky made one that was less stout and had a lower weight rating that was compatible with the auto sliders?

The Demco 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitches # DM6140 is not compatible with the auto slider hitches because of the connection point. The auto sliders because of their movement require the 4 points be fixed and the gooseneck adapter simply allows too much movement with the single point connection.

The manufacturer puts the restriction on the adapter. It can be used with manual sliders, but not the auto slider hitches. We don't have a gooseneck adapter that a manufacturer will state is compatible with the autoslide hitches.

To use an auto slider, you would need to use fixed base rails which would require removing your gooseneck hitch as they connect in the same location to the frame.
