Troubleshooting Sensor Alerts on Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera # HM50002

Question:

Hi Jason I tried every mode and reset the system. The sensors are tight and havent moved. The warning tone worked when I put it in but not now for some reason? Any other options? Thanks

For your 2011 Chevy Silverado, it sounds like you possibly have the Hopkins Smart Hitch # HM50002 in hitch mode or your sensors are not angled correctly. If you switch the mode to everyday by pushing the button on the side of the monitor you should have alerts at other intervals when your sensors are at the correct angles. I've attached the installation details to help further.

I reached out to my tech contact and they said the sensor angle we went over was the first thing to check and since they haven't moved, it sounds like it is a circuit board issue. He said that is covered under warranty.
