Why Would Blank Tank Full Sensors Give False Full Reading When Sensors are New
Question:
I installed these probes into my black water tank and replace the wiring as well. The gray water indicator is on the monitor seem to work fine but on the black water all of the lights light up and I know that the tank is not even half full. After I installed them the very first minute I check the monitor it seem to work OK I took the trailer to storage for two weeks I just picked it up and this is what I found all of the lights on for the black water tank . What have I done incorrectly? Thank you for your help, Paul Betz

Helpful Expert Reply:
When RV holding tank sensors incorrectly read full, it is typically due to residue. Since your trailer sat for a while it's very likely there is residue of some kind on the sensors. The best way to keep your tanks sensors working correctly is to take proper care of the tank itself. The waste tanks are more prone to sensor issues, simply because of the nature of the materials contained than fresh water tanks. What you need is a tank cleaner like the part # CAM41146 to break up everything in the tank so that the sensors will work again.
