How to Disable Auto Leveling on a 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk

Question:

NOBODY - not the dealer, not the Jeep customer service rep., not Google, not my owners manual - seems to know what the GCWR is for my vehicle!! There is a GCWR listed in my owners manual for an SRT trim with a 6.4L v8, tongue weight limit of 720lbs and tow capacity of 7200lbs Curb: 5100lbs rated at12,600lbs. My 2017 5.7L 4x4 Trailhawk with Quadra-Lift suspension is 4870lbs curb, GVWR of 6800lbs, and has a tongue/tow of 720/7200lbs. Im pulling a 2018 Jayco Whitehawk 23MRB that is just a tad under 6000lbs not including cargo, but does include the 2x30lb propane tanks and battery. I have an 1,000lb. rated Blue Ox WDH weighs 88lbs to pull my rig. The other day, after the RV dealer hooked everything up and sent me on my way with my new T.T., I stopped at a CAT scale and got a GCW reading of 12,400lbs. I had abt. 520lbs of passengers, and maybe 100lbs of cargo. This reading sounds in line with what I think the max. GCWR might be for my Trailhawk based on the slightly heavier 12,600 GCWR for the SRT, but Im unable to verify my rating with anyone because no one has a clue what it is! Any idea? Also, any idea the best mode to put the suspension in so its not constantly trying to level out with the extra tongue weight? Ive seen some people say to put it in Tire Jack mode and others say just to keep it in sport mode. Unfortunately, Jeep seems mute on the issues.

The gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of your 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk will be listed on the white tag inside the drivers door jamb. This takes into consideration all of the options that particular vehicle is equipped with and will be the only true way to find the correct figure. If you were looking for the GCWR so you can determine the towing capacity of your vehicle you would want to take this figure and subtract it from the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) which is also located on the white tag inside the drivers door jamb. It is best not to go by figures online.

We using a weight distribution system on a vehicle that has an auto leveling air ride suspension system, we always recommend to let the vehicle level as best it can then engage the spring bars to further level the vehicle. However, if you would like to disable the vehicle's auto level feature then put the vehicle into Entry/Exit height and disable the automatic load leveling system. Refer to “Uconnect Settings” in “Multimedia” for further information.
