Trailer Disconnected Indictor When Trailer Is Disconnected From Curt Spectrum Brake Controller

Question:

On the Curt Spectrum Trailer brake controller system, My intent is to install it on my 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 Pickup and use it on the week-ends to tow a trailer. Will the trailer disconnected lights flash the entire time I am driving with out the trailer during the week, or is there some way to turn them off when it is not being used? Please advise and thanks.

I will be happy to assist you with the issue you are having with the Curt Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller # C51170. I reached out to my contact at Curt and they indicated that the disconnected light only comes on when you hit the brakes with your trailer disconnected. Curt advised that there is no way to disable this feature without disconnecting the entire unit.
