In order to determine the proper weight distribution system for your 2016 Ford Edge, there are a number of considerations you need to make. The most important of those is your total tongue weight, which includes your trailer's tongue weight and should be 10-15% of your gross trailer weight, plus the weight of any cargo loaded behind the rear axle of your Ford Edge.

According to Ford's trailer towing guide, the maximum tongue weight for your 2016 Edge is 350 lbs, but any cargo you may store in the vehicle behind the rear axle will add to the weight distribution system's tongue weight, so I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System with 4-Point Sway Control, # EQ37060ET. It has a tongue weight capacity of 600 lbs, and is designed to fit 2" trailer hitch receivers which are rated for use with weight distribution systems.

The Equal-i-zer manages sway via friction that is applied to the spring bars, limiting side-to-side movement of your trailer. I have included a link to a video review of this product for you, as well as a pair of articles, one about weight distribution systems, and the other about how you can determine trailer tongue weight.
