What are Correct Functions for a 7-Way Connector on a Walton Dump Trailer

Question:

Howdy- My dad drug the cord for his Walton dump trailer plug and messed it up. Current plug is a 6 wire-6 blade with red, white, green, yellow, brown and blue. Only replacement plugs I can find have 6 blade with center pole. I tried several configurations on a pollack 12-706 and right brake stays lit, no R turn or running lights. Thoughts? This plugs into a 2011 Ford f150. Need to know the correct wire config. Thanks a bunch.

That is an interesting looking plug. I do believe that it is a 7-Way, like the Pollak # PK12706 that you referenced, because a 6-Way typically has round connectors and one of them is in the center, like part # PK11604.

The center pin is typically used for the reverse light function so if your trailer is not equipped with reverse lights then not having that center pin connected to a circuit isn't a big deal. The rest of the functions will look like the attached photo and are as follows:

1 o'clock - Tail/Running Lights
3 o'clock - Left Turn/Stop
5 o'clock - Ground
7 o'clock - Brake Controller Output
9 o'clock - Right Turn/Stop
11 o'clock - 12V Power

If this doesn't match up with your 2011 Ford F-150 (which it should) then your best bet would be to take a circuit tester like part # 3808 and test the pin-out of the 7-Way on your F-150. Once you know that you can configure your Walton dump trailer the same way.
