Providing Extra Support at Rear of Sprinter for the Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier # UF48-979033
Question:
Can you recommend ways to provide additional support for a hitch mounted motorcycle carrier mounted on an extended Mercedes Sprinter / Airstream Interstate? Im thinking of either 1- fabricating a second, smaller hitch receiver on one end to help mitigate sway, or 2- using ratchet straps to help support and stabilize the ends of the carrier off the top rear door hinges. The hinges seem sturdy enough, and it seems this could help take some of the load off the hitch.

Either of the options you mentioned would be a great way to help secure a motorcycle on the Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier # UF48-979033 as it is meant for a heavier application.
My only concern is that your trailer hitch and/or your Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is/are not rated high enough in weight capacity to properly do so. Check the weight capacity of your trailer hitch and your Sprinter and then subtract about 50 lbs for the weight of the Ultra-Fab carrier.
If your motorcycle/bike is still less than your lowest rated component then I recommend using some ratchet straps like SmartStraps Tactical Ratchet Tie-Down Straps - 1" x 10' - Qty 2 # SM54FR0 to help steady your bike. These have a 500 lb weight capacity so they will be perfect for your application.
