Can the Sterling Tow Bar Safety Cables be Used with Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plates

It looks like you dont use the quick release bracket, which is what the ball end of the safety cable connects to, with the EZ5 base plate. How do you connect the supplied cable to the EZ5 base plate without the bracket?

Expert Reply:
There is a way to use the safety cables that come with the Sterling tow bar # RM-576 with Roadmaster EZ5 base plates such as # RM-524431-5 for the 2017 Ford F-150. The Sterling cable anchors must be attached to the frame of the towed vehicle or welded to the receiver portion of the base plate brackets. A professional welder could perform this task for a nominal fee.
The other option is to not use the included cables and instead use separate coiled cables such as # RM-653.
