Combating Sag When Towing with a 2011 GMC Yukon XL Equipped with AutoRide

I have a 2011 Yukon XL Denali. The autoride suspension appears to be working correctly, however, with my 7000lb trailer, there is still sag in the suspension and I am worried about stressing the autoride system. Can I install a coil helper like the Air Lift 1000 to help reduce the strain on the autoride system when I am pulling a heavy trailer?

The best way to fight sag for any bumper pull setup is with a weight distribution (WD) system. A WD system takes the tongue weight of your trailer and evenly distributes it between the axles of your tow vehicle (2011 GMC Yukon XL) and your trailer. Unfortunately the Air Lift kits will not fit your vehicle if you have the auto-leveling system (which you do).
A properly loaded trailer should have a tongue weight (TW) that is 10-15% of the weight of the loaded trailer. If your loaded trailer is 7,000 lbs that should put your TW between 700 lbs - 1,050 lbs. When choosing a WD system you take the loaded TW of your trailer and then add the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your Yukon XL. This gives you what we call total tongue weight (TTW). You want to choose a WD system that has a TW range that the TTW of your setup falls in the middle of.
One of the most popular WD systems that we have in the range you are looking for is the Equal-i-zer # EQ37100ET which has a TW range of 600 lbs - 1,000 lbs. Not only will this system help with your sag but it will also help fight trailer sway.
This comes with everything that you need, but a 1-7/8" thin-walled socket, like part # EQ70-00-4800, is recommended to install the 2-5/16" hitch ball.
