Locating Replacement Hubs for European Trailer
Question:
Hello - I have a 4x8 trailer manufactured in the UK and I would like to add breaks to it. It has 165x13R wheels, but I am not sure if the Euro wheel pattern is different than the replacement hubs you have, do you know the answer? Moreover, I would need a complete kit, so what would I need to order to add brakes to my trailer? Thank you for your help.

From what I could find there shouldn't be any difference between a European wheel bolt pattern and a US pattern. With that being said, you can verify this by measuring your existing bolt pattern to make sure it matches up to what we have available. I have attached a great article that explains exactly how to do this.
In order to pick out the correct replacement hubs for your trailer, I recommend pulling an assembly and checking for the bearing numbers that are used. These numbers should be stamped right inside the inner and outer bearings. If you can't read the numbers, you can also take a few measurements along the spindle where the bearings sit. I have attached an image that clarifies where these measurements will be taken. You will also want to verify the axle capacity on your trailer to make sure the replacement hub features the same rating.
For example, the etrailer Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K uses the # L68149 inner bearing, the # L44649 outer bearing, features a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern, and is designed for 3,500 pound axles.
