Can Air Bags be Installed on a 2011 Ford F-250 with B&W Gooseneck Hitch Installed
Question:
I am getting ready to purchase a BandW turnover ball gooseneck hitch system with a Companion slider 5th wheel. Is there a bag available for this install?

All of the air spring kits for the 2011 Ford F-250 mount to the sides of the truck frame rails. The issue is that the B&W gooseneck hitch brackets also install in the same location but on the outsides of the frame rails. This would not be a problem if the B&W brackets holes in them to match the frame holes located directly above the axle. This is the hole that nearly all of the available air spring kits use for your truck.
You would have to drill the holes into the B&W brackets. If you do then you can use air springs such as # AL57396 for a 4x4 or # AL57395 for 2-wheel drive models. However, drilling the holes in the B&W brackets will void the B&W warranty.
To avoid voiding the warranty you can use a different type of suspension enhancement. Take a look at the RoadActive Suspension # RAS3611-SLHD (for models with top overload springs) or # RAS3611-SHD (for models without top overload springs). These systems will provide support and stability and they will not interfere with the B&W brackets. Take a look at the video I have linked showing and example installation of # RAS3611-SHD.
