Installation of Derale Transmission Cooler in 2013 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
I am purchasing a Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class IV - Efficient Item # D13504 to replace my factory transmission cooler on a 2013 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3l 6 speed auto. I’ve seen videos and instructions on how to add this product when the vehicle does not have the factory cooler. my question is when I remove the factory cooler will I need the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM Item # D13035 or any other fittings/adapters to connect the new radiator with the supplied hose to the factory lines? Thanks

It is recommended to use the # D13504 in addition to the factory cooler on your Silverado. This will further help cool the transmission fluid. If you determine you will remove and replace, then you will need the adapter fitting # D13035. My recommendation if that is the case is to use the Derale Dyno-Cool Remote Cooler with Fan and Hose Barb Inlets # D12743. This will ensure you have proper cooling to protect your transmission with the integrated fan.
Then you simply need to determine if you want to use the included tie mounts or the universal metal mount kit # D13002.
