Trailer Hitch Needed for a 2000 Four Winds International Hurricane Motorhome

Question:

I have a 2000 Four Winds Hurricane 34K, 18,000lbs chassis with GCWR of 26,000lbs. Currently its equipped with a bolt-in hitch that is only rated for 3500lbs, and Id like to scrap that hitch and replace it with a hitch that would allow me to tow up to the vehicles allowed 8,000lbs trailer weight. Here are the weights listed on the vehicle placards: GAWR F 7,000 lbs GAWR R 11,000 lbs GVWR 18,000 lbs GCWR 26,000 lbs Do you have a hitch that would fill my needs?

Expert Reply:

Although we don't have any specific trailer hitches for your 2000 Four Winds International Hurricane Motorhome we do have a selection of weld-on heavy duty trailer hitches that you can filter through.

An example would be the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Cross Tube # 41990 with the 7" # 4907 or 16" # 4916 brackets. This would be a custom job performed by a professional welder so it would be beneficial to consult them as well to see what would work for the installation.

Our selection of weld-on trailer hitches has been linked for you to filter through.
