Is Trailer Hitch Rated for Weight Distribution Available for 2017 Kia Sorento?
Question:
It says in your add that this hitch is not rated for load leveling hitches. How then do I pull my 3000 pound camper with load leveling hitch?

Expert Reply:
There are two hitches that are a fit for your 2017 Kia Sorento though neither the Draw-Tite # 75908 or Curt # C13195 are rated for use with a weight distribution (load-leveling) system so you would be unable to use this to tow your 3,000 lb camper.
I looked up your '17 Sorento's owner's manual and it does state that the maximum towing capacity for this vehicle is 3,500 lbs (for the Theta II 2.0/2.4 engine) or 5,000 lbs (for the Lambda II 3.3 engine) only if you have the trailer towing package, which you will want to keep in mind. For trailer wiring to add a 4-flat, if you have the factory tow package you need Wiring Harness # C56332 or Wiring Harness # C56256 if you do NOT have the factory tow package.
I also recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900, which is for 2” hitches and may fulfill your towing needs in one tidy package; two ball mounts - one with a 3/4” rise or 2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise or 4” drop - a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip.
