Recommended Tire Chains for 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

Question:

For my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, the manual says snow chains are not allowed due to clearance issues. It does say that spring chains or other options are available. Do you guys sell these other options and if so, what are they? Thanks in advance.

I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek and saw the same restrictions you did regarding the use of tire chains. We do have cable chains available that meet this requirement that will work well on your Crosstrek's tires.

If you have 225/55-18 size tires on the vehicle, I recommend the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains # PW1042. If you have 225/60-17 size tires, then I recommend the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains # PW1038. Both options are constructed of wire cross cables with spring rollers wrapped around them. These chains are Class S compatible (which your owner's manual also calls for), which means they are designed for vehicles like yours that feature limited wheel-well clearance. The spring chains will install easily over the tires and I do recommend adding Rubber Adjusters # PW105 to provide an even tighter fit.

I have attached a couple short video demonstrations on these products that you can check out. Also note that the Crosstrek's owner's manual does state that traction devices should only be used on the front tires.
