Will the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains # PW1042 Fit My 255/45-19 Tires on My 2021 Tesla Model Y?
Question:
Hi etrailer - Part # PW1042 is listed on the site as the correct tire chain for a Tesla Model Y with tire size 255/45-19. Is this correct? I cant find any reviews for this chain on this vehicle or tire size. If this is the correct chain, can you tell me the correct rubber adjuster for this tire size? Thanks for your help!

Yes. You can use the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains - 1 Pair # PW1042 on your Tesla Model Y with standard 255/45-19 tires. As an extra layer of confirmation, it is always a good idea to check to see if you have the required clearance to make sure that you do not damage any wheel well components such as struts. For these particular cables, it requires a minimum of 1.46" (37 mm) between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well and at least 0.59" (15 mm) between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle. I went ahead and attached a diagram that shows how to conduct these measurements.
As far as rubber adjusters, the ones you need are Glacier Multi-Arm Rubber Adjusters - 15"-18" Rims # PW105. These adjusters will give you the peace of mind of having constant tension on your cables so you do not have to tighten them after each trip.
As with all tire cables and chains, I strongly recommend consulting with your Tesla owner's manual to make sure you are abiding by all of the guidelines outlined.
