RV Vinyl Trim for 7/8 Inch Channel

Question:

The channel I need vinyl trim for is 5/8inch wide at the opening, and it looks like the trim goes 1/8inch into the sides of the channel, for a total of /8inch width where the trim will go. However, from what I can tell from the rotten vinyl that is left, it seems the original was 1inch wide and bulged out. What is standard for this situation? Should I buy 7/8inch or 1inch ?

For your 7/8 inch channel you will want the 1 inch wide trim like the Camco RV Vinyl Trim Insert - Black - 1000' Long x 1" Wide # CAM25312 you asked from. This will allow for trim to stay in place as the whether changes from the extreme heat of summer to cold of winter. This comes in different lengths so you can get 25 feet # CAM25113 or 100 feet # CAM25212. It is also available in different colors like white, beige, and brown.
