What is the Maximum Towing Capacity of a 2014 Ford F-150
Question:
I have an 2014 F150 Super Crew Cab, 5.0L V8 FFV engine, elec 6-speed auto w/tow mod, 4wd, 145inch wheelbase, 3.55 ratio regular axle, and 7350# GVWR package. Not sure what this is but I also have .P275/65R18 OWL All-terrain what is that?. My truck also has the equipment group 301A XLT series. I am trying to figure out the size and weight of a travel trailer for which my truck can handle. I have spent hours trying to figure out what exactly my capabilities are but the Ford manual and Towing manual arent working for me! If you are able to, I would like some advice on a hitch as well. Anything helps! Thank you!

If you are referring to gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), this is maximum operating weight of the vehicle with all of its cargo and or passengers. If you take this figure and subtract it from the gross combined vehicle weight rating (GCWR), that will tell you your maximum gross trailer weight (GTW) rating. These figures will be listed on the white tag inside the driver door jamb.
According to my research, your 2014 Ford F-150 has a maximum GTW rating of 7,800 lbs. You will however want to use the above method to confirm this. For a trailer hitch receiver, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C14002 which is the most popular option we have for your F-150. This hitch has a Class IV rating with a 2" receiver tube opening.
If you need any other parts to complete you towing setup, please let me know and I would be happy to recommend them. I have attached a sample install video of the hitch for you as well.
