Can Fulton Drop-Leg Stabilizer Jack with Mounting Channel be Welded to an Aluminum Frame

Question:

Are there concerns for welding this on an aluminum trailer? Steel sleeve against aluminum frame, wont that cause corrosion? Looking for something to put on tail of enclosed trailer to allow loading of Harleys when not attached to truck.

The biggest issue you will run into is the actual welding process. There are different heat requirements for aluminum components and steel components. Not that it can't be done but the welder would need to have experience welding steel to aluminum.

There is also the issue of galvanic corrosion that you mentioned. Your best option is to use a couple of scissor jacks, # UF48-979002, and bolt them to the bottom of the trailer frame. This will allow you to paint, prime, or otherwise treat the area where the jacks will be to minimize the chance of galvanic corrosion. You could then use adapter # UF48-979005 with an electric drill to make raising and lowering the jacks easier and faster.
