Emergency Crank Handle for a Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch

Question:

I need a crank handle to use in case of power failure on my electric wench. The wench is listed as a Dutton Lainson DLB800A. This is a wench used to lift the top of a pop up camper. Thanks!

The Dutton-Lainson Winch part DLB800A that you referenced is not an electric winch. It is a brake hand winch with an 800 lb capacity which is similar to our part # DL16331. With that being said, all of the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winches have some sort of built-in manual override. If they did not come with an emergency crank handle which was the case with part # DL25200, you can manually operate the winch with a 5/8" deep well socket. The drive shaft you will need to access is covered by a plug which you can see in the attached photo.

I have also attached a section of the owner's manual for a Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch which walks you through the above process.
